Custom Class Action Case Management Software
Overview
About Class Action Settlement Company
The client is a U.S.-based class action settlement administration firm with extensive experience managing cases of varying size and complexity. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the organization places a strong emphasis on data security, audit-ability, and precise financial tracking.

Their Challenge
Class action settlement administration is inherently complex. A single case can span months or years, involve thousands (or even millions) of participants, and require strict coordination across timelines, tasks, communications, and financial distributions. Every data point matters: deadlines are legally binding, calculations must be exact to the smallest unit, and every action needs to be traceable for audits and court approval. At the same time, real-world data is rarely clean or predictable, and exceptions tend to be the rule.
Like many organizations operating in highly regulated, data-intensive environments, the client struggled with managing this level of complexity using an outdated internal system. The platform could not scale to handle growing data volumes, evolving workflows, or the nuanced dependencies between tasks, stakeholders, and financial outcomes. Prior to engaging Saritasa, the organization had invested heavily in a custom software initiative that was ultimately abandoned due to misalignment between the technology and how teams actually worked. They needed a modern solution that could centralize data, adapt to changing requirements, and provide operational clarity without sacrificing accuracy, compliance, or accountability.
Our Solution
Saritasa partnered with the client to design and develop a custom internal case management platform tailored to complex legal and financial workflows. The engagement began with a deep discovery and design phase to map case lifecycles, user roles, and data requirements before development began. The resulting system centralizes case data, class member records, task tracking, and reporting in a single platform. The solution prioritizes data integrity, accuracy, and usability, enabling internal teams to manage high-stakes settlements with confidence.

Our Approach
What Saritasa Did
Design-First Architecture
Given the scale of the platform, Saritasa led a design-heavy engagement focused on business logic and system structure. This approach helped align stakeholders early and reduced rework during development.
Case and Task Management
We built a comprehensive internal system that acts as a single source of truth for every settlement case. Each case includes structured timelines, task dependencies, assigned owners, deadlines, urgency indicators, and status tracking. Once tasks are completed, they are locked to preserve data integrity and provide a clear audit trail across the entire case lifecycle.
Role-Based Access
The platform supports multiple internal user roles, each with tailored permissions and views. A detailed permissions matrix ensures sensitive financial and personal data is accessible only to authorized users.
Financial Accuracy and Reporting
Because settlement funds must be accounted for down to the smallest unit, the system was designed to maintain strict numerical accuracy across timelines, allocations, and reports. The platform includes configurable reporting tools, supporting both manual and scheduled report generation to meet internal review and compliance needs.
Iterative Refinement and Quality Assurance
As the client began testing the platform with live cases, real-world edge cases emerged that required refinement, such as supporting incomplete uploads, accommodating individuals associated with multiple cases, and relaxing overly rigid validation rules. Saritasa worked iteratively with stakeholders to adjust workflows while preserving accuracy, traceability, and system reliability.
