About Health Monitor
For nearly 40 years, Health Monitor Network (HMN) has been a nationally recognized healthcare marketing platform serving the pharmaceutical and OTC industries. Health Monitor operates one of the largest healthcare point-of-care media networks in the United States, distributing curated content through tens of thousands of Android tablets and TV monitors placed in doctors’ offices, waiting rooms, and exam rooms across the country.

Health Monitor manages a nationwide network of more than 30,000-40,000 connected devices deployed across healthcare facilities in 48 states. These devices deliver advertising and educational campaigns that are tightly governed by client contracts, regulatory expectations, and uptime commitments.
As the network grew, so did the complexity of managing it. While HMN collected massive volumes of device and campaign data, the team lacked a centralized, automated way to interpret that data, prioritize issues, and route actionable tasks to the right internal teams or field service contractors. Manual monitoring and ad-hoc reporting made it difficult to respond quickly, ensure campaign compliance, and scale support operations efficiently. HMN needed a custom decision support system that could transform raw data into prioritized, role-based actions across the organization.
Our Solution
Saritasa worked with Health Monitor to design and build a custom, web-based decision support platform that automated monitoring, issue detection, and task prioritization across their entire device network.
Rather than replacing HMN’s existing data infrastructure, Saritasa built an intelligent rules engine and application layer on top of Google BigQuery. The platform continuously evaluates device status, campaign data, and business criteria using custom algorithms, then generates actionable alerts and tasks that are routed to the appropriate teams through role-based dashboards. This solution gave Health Monitor real-time operational visibility, reduced manual oversight, and enabled the organization to proactively manage device health, campaign compliance, and support workflows at a national scale.

What Saritasa Did
Custom Rules Engine & Decision Support Logic
Saritasa developed a sophisticated rules engine that runs daily queries against HMN’s BigQuery data warehouse. These algorithms analyze device health, campaign status, downtime duration, client importance, advertiser spend, and campaign lifecycle stage to determine when an issue requires attention and how urgent that attention should be.
Automated Action Items & Alerts
The system distinguishes between passive alerts and actionable tasks. Alerts notify teams of non-critical issues, while action items require intervention and are tracked through defined statuses. Completed actions are automatically verified by changes in the underlying data, eliminating guesswork and manual confirmation.
Role-Based Dashboards & Workflow Management
Saritasa built a frontend application inspired by Kanban-style workflows, allowing users to manage tasks visually and efficiently. Role-based access ensures each user sees only the action items relevant to their department, while administrators maintain full visibility across the organization.
Scalable Backend & BigQuery Integration
The backend application, built with Python, orchestrates scheduled queries, applies business logic, and manages task creation without duplicating or disrupting HMN’s existing data infrastructure. Tight integration with Google BigQuery allows the platform to scale alongside HMN’s growing device network.
Reporting, Metrics & Operational Visibility
The platform provides insight into device downtime, campaign compliance, and support performance, helping HMN identify trends, optimize response strategies, and make data-driven decisions about network health and resource allocation.
