Their Challenge
Police departments rely on accurate, up-to-date firearms training records to ensure officer readiness and meet strict certification requirements. Every law enforcement officer must regularly complete live firearm qualifications, a process typically managed by on-site instructors. But many shooting ranges lack reliable internet access, forcing departments to rely on handwritten notes, which then have to be manually entered into the system later. This not only created inefficiencies but opened the door for human error and incomplete records. ArmorerLink already provides a platform for secure record tracking, but needed a simple, secure solution that enabled instructors to capture data in the field, without an internet connection, and automatically sync it with their existing platform.
Our Solution
Saritasa worked with ArmorerLink to design and develop a mobile application specifically for firearms instructors conducting live training. The app offers full offline functionality, allowing instructors to log qualifications, take photos of targets, and ensure accurate, real-time data capture even in remote areas. Once reconnected to the internet, the app syncs with ArmorerLink’s main platform using their existing APIs. This tool eliminates paperwork, reduces errors, and improves operational efficiency across departments.
Our Approach
What Saritasa Did
Qualification Scoring & Target Capture
Instructors can select from existing courses of fire, enter qualification scores, and take photos of each officer’s target all within the app. These records are then archived and linked to each officer’s training history for full traceability.
Offline-First Web Application
We built a progressive web application using Angular that works seamlessly even without internet access. This enables officers and instructors to operate in the field without worrying about connectivity, then sync later when a connection becomes available. It’s accessible for mobile and tablet devices.
Intuitive UI Design
We collaborated with the client to create a clean, easy-to-use interface with minimal onboarding required. The design focused on speed, clarity, and mobile usability, ensuring it worked well under real training conditions.
API Integration
The app connects to ArmorerLink’s existing Firearm Management System via their public API. Saritasa worked closely with ArmorerLink’s internal API development team to ensure compatibility and seamless syncing, automatically updating the main system without duplicating backend logic.
