Legal SaaS Platform Development & DevOps

Overview

About NMBL Technologies

NMBL Technologies is a forward-thinking legal tech company transforming the way legal services are delivered. Founded by attorneys with a passion for innovation, NMBL builds intelligent, secure systems that help modernize legal departments. Their flagship product, Proxy, is a legal workflow management platform used by in-house counsel and stakeholders to manage projects, track progress, and improve operational efficiency.

Their Challenge

The legal industry is notoriously slow to adopt technology, but in-house teams are under increasing pressure to streamline operations, improve visibility, and demonstrate ROI. NMBL sought to solve this problem with Proxy, a purpose-built task and workflow management SaaS for legal teams. However, they faced serious setbacks with their previous development partner. The platform had poor code quality, security concerns, and unreliable infrastructure which wasn’t acceptable for a production app used by high-profile clients like the San Francisco Federal Reserve.

Our Solution

Saritasa took over development of NMBL’s Proxy codebase to ensure ongoing stability, scalability, and support. Our team spent over 2,000 hours refactoring existing code, hardening security protocols, and rebuilding the platform’s infrastructure. We migrated the application to AWS and restructured the deployment using Kubernetes to ensure high availability, performance, and data security. Proxy now supports critical legal workflows with enterprise-grade stability.

Our Approach

What Saritasa Did

SaaS Development

We inherited a live, production SaaS platform and carefully rebuilt it to be scalable, secure, and easy to maintain. Our backend engineers refactored core Python code while frontend developers improved the Angular-based UI for reliability and responsiveness.

Security & DevOps Modernization

Security was a top priority. We implemented advanced access control, reconfigured the network for best-practices, and enforced encrypted data protocols throughout the system. Migrating to AWS allowed us to optimize for redundancy, speed, and uptime. Our DevOps team rebuilt the infrastructure using Kubernetes to support scalable growth and fast incident recovery.

High-Stakes Production Support

With active clients including the San Francisco Federal Reserve, downtime wasn’t an option. During our AWS migration, we completed the full switchover with just a few hours of planned downtime.
