Their Challenge
Rivet provides brand activation, demand generation, and performance optimization services to industrial manufacturers. One of their clients, Kaishan USA, manufactures industrial air compressors weighing hundreds of pounds. Kaishan wanted to build a tool to help distributors visually demonstrate and illustrate their product’s unique features and capabilities. The solution needed to be lightweight and easily portable for distributors traveling to prospective client sites. Rivet helped Kaishan conceptualize an augmented reality experience to act as a sales tool but needed an experienced team for the actual development.
Our Solution
Saritasa worked with Rivet and Kaishan to develop a tablet-based application that would allow sales representatives and distributors to showcase augmented reality versions of their top-of-the-line rotary screw compressors. The application needed to be easy to use on the fly, either at client locations or trade shows. Users can walk around the full-sized devices, view different layers, and even see a custom animation of the patented airflow mechanisms.

What Saritasa Did
3D Asset Customization
The client provided high polygon count 3D models of their devices, but the models proved to be too high quality to use on a tablet application. To optimize the experience for phone and tablet CPUs, the models needed to be scaled down significantly without reducing the quality. We worked collaboratively with the client to reduce the polygon count to ensure the app would run smoothly.
Layered AR Visuals
Sales reps can place a true-to-scale compressor anywhere, allowing potential customers to accurately visualize how the machine will look in a given space. This helps buyers make more informed purchase decisions as they can gauge product fit for their needs. They can also view the device layer by layer, previewing the machine’s inner workings.
Air Flow Animations
A big selling point for Kaishan’s compressors is their patented SKY airend technology, which improves efficiency and flexibility. Our team animated how air moves through the device, from cool air being brought in to how the hot air is pushed out to showcase the impressive technology.
Direct Download for Distributors
The application was built using Unity and ARCore for direct download on the distributor’s Android devices. It is not available to the public and is only accessible to Kaishan distributors.
